POWER

When we look from the past to date, we see a mass that represents a soul of slavery (ready for suffering), always need an authority and therefore, in a sense, invoke it. As a starting point, we must also know power is not a one-sided imposition; if there is a restricting construction, then there is a person or a mass calling for this restriction. I think that requesting for being restricted and administered by an upper-determination have been growing out of the psychology of human being based on their fears. If there is a tormentor (master) at a place, them there is always a sufferer (slave). When we think the power as an authority restricting, bossy; we can suppose there is a mass that represent the soul of slavery that need this authority and so, invoke it in a sense.

According to Foucault, “power” is everywhere and comes into the scene in different forms. For instance, in all government agencies, private establishments, families and even in Art today..

If we think on a social platform, the power includes desire and feel for governing. To govern is, then, will generate its antagonistic counter: desire for being governed..

Unfortunately, we live in a society that is fond of being governed and accept always the power. We accept all the rules – rules have imposed on human being – that have been presented us like fruits in a plate. So, we live on with limiting our lives on same patterns and without questioning.

When we look at our society we see that human being accept these absurdities desire for being governed and for surviving. It seems to me that this situation is a masochistic attitude. Masochists like suffering themselves and tormentors that suffer them..

Mu sculptures generally presents animal figures from metal materials. For instance the sculpture Dinosaur is a symbol of a throne, power as it seems to me. We know that if the power takes a force, it wants to keep it ad infinitum. As for Horse, they were helper for humans and so they were always on human side, especially in the past. But these creatures were always on the powers’ side as a symbol of power. Even nowadays we can see it as a symbol of searching power. When we look at mosquito, it is a bloodsucker, exploiter; but also it is a symbolic existence of power and forcefulness.

These animal sculptures of mine differentiate from the natural sizes. I shaped the small animals as very big, contrarily I formed big ones as very small. The reason is that to establish relationship between nature and the situation that I gave reference. To me, Art, with its natural feature, is a power which creates a contrast; transforms the traditional meaning and process. It often is successful for throwing itself and society over beyond convention. Art, for this reason, is an effective power, accelerating the individuals and societies.
